Additional
Information about the Print
An
impression was included in Walcot’s 1928
exhibition ‘Impressions of Egypt’ at
the Fine Art Society and later the same year in
a group exhibition of ‘Recent Etchings’ at
the Fine Art Society.
The
architectural setting for this imaginary scene
is based on the pylons and narrow gateway of the
Temple of Horus at Edfou. (Another, large, plate
also published by the FAS in 1928 was entitled Temple
of Edfou – see the following item.)
