Information about the Print
An
aerial view of the Thames from Westminster to
the Tower, including the new London County Hall
(built as headquarters of the LCC and opened in
1922) in the right foreground, courtesy of whom
the plate was issued.
Walcot
later worked for the LCC planning department
who praised him in an obituary notice in 1943.
One of his ideas had been to divert the Thames
to a straight channel so that the land in the
curving meanders could be built on as fashionable
boulevards. |
